TeamViewer's Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution aims to enable our users to manage cross-platform and cross-device systems more efficiently. Below you will find all essential information as well as a step-by-step guide to walk you through a successful setup of the MDM services.

This article applies to all TeamViewer Mobile Device Management customers.

Key Features

TeamViewer's MDM solution provides three main areas of focus in a single pane of glass:

Management

  • Device enrollment: Easily register your devices into TeamViewer's MDM platform, enabling your teams to quickly integrate into the organizational system.
  • Configuration: Tailor your devices to align with company policies by setting network configurations, email accounts, and more, ensuring employees can begin work immediately.
  • Inventory management: Centralized visibility into all managed devices, helping your teams monitor device lifecycles and make informed decisions regarding all devices.
  • Device update: Streamline the update process of operating systems, firmware, and applications, allowing administrators to schedule updates and minimize downtime.
  • Reporting and dashboards: Real-time analytics and a visual dashboard allow your teams to identify trends, flag issues early, and demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards.

Security

  • Compliance: Ensure devices comply with regulatory standards such as GDPR.
  • File encryption: Protect sensitive data stored on devices, ensuring the information remains secure even if the device is lost or stolen.
  • Remote lock, wipe, and backup: In case of device loss or theft, perform a complete data lock or wipe remotely. Regular backups ensure critical information can be easily restored on replacement devices.
  • Authentication of user access: Enforce strong access controls such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), password policies, or other locks, ensuring only authorized users can access corporate resources on the devices.
  • Restriction of apps/features: Prevent unauthorized or risky applications from installation or use by restricting app downloads or blocking access to device features like Bluetooth or the camera.
  • Device location: Track the location of devices in real-time, allowing the ability to retrieve lost devices and ensure compliant device usage.

Support

  • Remote control of devices: Enable your IT teams to remotely access and troubleshoot devices, allowing techs to resolve issues quickly.
  • Diagnosis and resolution of issues remotely: Hardware and software issues can be diagnosed without needing the device in hand. Your IT teams can push updates, fix misconfigurations, or guide users to a resolution

This focus allows the System Admin to monitor endpoints and trigger adaptive policies to remediate threats, quarantine devices, and maintain compliance.

This solution also provides the fundamental visibility for the IT admins to secure, manage, and monitor any corporate or employee-owned mobile device that accesses business-critical data. It also allows organizations to secure a vast range of employee devices being used within the organization while managing the entire life cycle of the device, including:

  • Policy configuration management and enforcement: Define, assign, deploy, and enforce device policies that align with corporate or regulatory standards.
  • Application distribution and management: Streamline the deployment and management processes across multiple devices, ensuring users have the specific tools they need to perform their jobs efficiently.
  • Device actions: Execute specific actions on managed devices to maintain security, functionality, and compliance.
