This article applies to TeamViewer Customers with Business, Premium, Corporate, Tensor, Meeting100 and Company licenses.
This article explains how to use an attended remote control from within a meeting.
During a meeting session, the person sharing their screen can Allow control permission to a participant.
This person then gets control of the presenter's computer. It’s also possible to Allow control to only a certain application (like Photoshop, Word document etc)
This feature can be used for co-editing of documents like spreadsheets and presentations, providing training to use certain applications (Photoshop, CRM, CAD software…) or IT support to multiple participants in a single session.
This feature will be available to licensed TeamViewer customers with a Business, Premium, Corporate or Tensor plan.
For TeamViewer Meeting, the standalone meeting product, Allow control is available for customers with Meeting100 or Company licenses.
📌Note: Free users will not have access to Allow control within meetings. We recommend using TeamViewer for Remote Control.
During a meeting, the person sharing (=Presenter) their screen can give the Allow control permission to a participant.
The participant then gets control of the presenter's computer.
To restrict access, it’s also possible to allow control only to a certain application (like Photoshop, Word document etc).
1) To give a participant the Allow control permission, the presenter needs to open the List view showing all participants.
2) Then click on the 3 dots next to the person who should be allowed control and click on the allow control option
Alternatively, in the Media view, the presenter can click on the participant's name and Allow control from the menu displayed.
This person will then have the option to remote control the presenters device or selected application until another person is assigned control or the presenter stops allow control for the participant.
📌Note: Only one person can get the Allow Control permission at a time.
Once the remote control functionality is being used within a meeting, one of the available channels from a TeamViewer license is consumed.
💡Hint: Hosting a meeting without using the remote control feature will not consume a channel.
Whether a meeting has the Allow control feature is based on the organizer's license. The channel consumed will be assigned from the organizer's license.
If the organizer assigns another participant as an organizer and then leaves the meeting, the original organizer’s channel will be continued to be used. Channel consumption is always based on who started the meeting.
If the Allow control feature is available based on the license, it is available to all participants and not limited to only the organizer or other license holders within the meeting.
📌Note: If the meeting organizer has a Meeting100 or Company license AND is a licensed user of a Business, Premium, Corporate, or Tensor license, the channel of the Meeting100 or Company license will be used.
📌Note: If the meeting organizer has a Meeting50 license AND is a licensed user of a Business, Premium, Corporate, or Tensor license the channel of the Business, Premium, Corporate, or Tensor license will be taken.
