Read our article to discover 2024’s key developments and TeamViewer’s solutions to last year’s challenges.
2024 was characterized by rapid changes. Companies had to adapt to new circumstances at an unprecedented speed in order to meet the increasing demands of a constantly changing world and remain globally competitive.
In the face of these developments, the past 12 months at TeamViewer have been characterized by learning, adapting, and creating—always in close collaboration with our customers and partners.
2024 was the year in which hybrid working models finally became the norm. However, what meant more flexibility and work-life balance for employees presented IT support with new challenges: More end devices, more users, and the expectation that everything would always work—no matter where employees were located.
TeamViewer supports hybrid working companies, among other things, with our proven integration into Microsoft Teams. This provides companies with a tool that not only optimizes general support processes, but also enables them to support their teams efficiently and quickly.
In 2024, we received the Microsoft Teams Partner of the Year Award in the Microsoft Apps & Solutions category for our integration. Each year, Microsoft presents this award in various categories to partners that have developed the best Microsoft cloud applications, services, devices, and AI innovations. This year, the winners were selected from more than 4,700 nominations from over 100 countries.
This award once again confirmed to us that seamless IT remote support that enables collaboration from anywhere is more important than ever in today's world.

2024 was also the year in which artificial intelligence (AI) finally went from being an innovation project to a best practice. Companies in almost every industry are now using AI to increase efficiency, better support their customers, and drive innovation.
99% of IT executives see clear benefits in adopting AI and 75% plan to increase their investments over the next 12 months. With AI, we don't just mean ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or other chatbots, but also specialized applications to optimize internal work processes, such as documenting and analyzing support cases.
This is precisely where our AI features Session Insights and Session Analytics come in. Both features were developed in close collaboration with our customers and are specifically tailored to the needs of IT support teams.
Together, they help IT teams to reduce their workload while providing them with the information they need to sustainably increase the efficiency of their support.

Thanks to innovations such as the Apple Vision Pro, in 2024 mixed reality (MR) was increasingly perceived as a key technology. And rightly so, because the ability to link digital and real spaces is not just a technical gimmick, but a powerful tool for solving real-world problems.
Mixed reality is particularly promising in areas where complex challenges require quick and precise action. Whether it's reducing downtime—which causes billions of dollars in losses annually in many industries—or supporting skilled workers who are confronted with increasingly demanding tasks, mixed reality offers approaches to increasing efficiency and reducing the pressure on existing employees.
This is precisely why, in 2024, we developed Smart Service, a solution that combines remote access for companies with AR-based remote support. With Smart Service, issues can be rectified completely remotely: Fom the initial assessment of the problem to the solution, including documentation of the individual processing steps and the knowledge gained.

The consequences of climate change were hugely evident in 2024. Extreme weather events were making headlines all over the world. Fires devastated entire landscapes, floods paralyzed cities, and record temperatures put a strain on both people and nature. As in previous years, these are no longer just warning signs, but clear symptoms of a crisis that can no longer be ignored.
This year, the realization that sustainable action must be a central component of long-term corporate strategies has taken hold not only in politics and society, but also in the economy. As a result, companies were looking for ways to make their processes more sustainable without sacrificing competitiveness.
At TeamViewer, we have long been aware that our solutions could help companies to do just that. But in 2024, we wanted to know for sure: A study in collaboration with Five Glaciers Consulting showed that our software saved up to 41 million tons of CO₂ in 2022 alone. This is roughly equivalent to 42,000 return flights between London and Tokyo.
These figures make it clear that digital technologies not only make processes more efficient but can also make a direct contribution to climate protection.

In 2024, it’s become more apparent than ever that complex challenges such as digitalization, the shortage of skilled workers, and sustainability goals cannot be overcome alone.
Partnerships and synergies between companies have proven to be the key to driving innovation and creating sustainable and resilient solutions. These make it possible to combine skills, share knowledge, and work together on solutions that are both innovative and practical.
That is why TeamViewer has also increasingly focused on partnerships this year.
Together with Deloitte, we support companies in their digital transformation–from process optimization to the implementation of IoT solutions.
Our cooperation with Almer Technologies has enabled the seamless integration of augmented reality solutions into our remote support platform. Thanks to this partnership, maintenance and repair processes have become more efficient, particularly in industries where downtime can result in significant costs.
With 1E, a leading provider of Digital Employee Experience (DEX), we will make hybrid working models even more efficient in the future. Together, we offer solutions that ensure the productivity and safety of all employees–whether they work in the office, from home, or on the road.
Hybrid working finally became the norm, artificial intelligence found its way into important business processes, and sustainable business practices became more important than ever for companies.
Geopolitical developments also intensified this dynamic. Uncertainties in global trade relations and the growing importance of technological sovereignty forced companies to rethink their strategies.
Companies were only able to meet the evolving demands of this increasingly complex world by investing more in their digital infrastructure and creating resilient processes. New technologies were not just mere tools for improving efficiency; they also proved to be the decisive factors for remaining competitive in the long term.
Against this backdrop, it was particularly important for us at TeamViewer this year to listen and understand what really matters to our customers. Together with our customers and partners, it is and always has been our aim to develop practical solutions that provide them with the best possible support in meeting all new challenges.
