Empowering change: TeamViewer’s Climate Action working group drives global environmental impact

  • CSR Impact Article
  • At TeamViewer, our sustainability goals are driven by passionate employee-led groups under our c-a-r-e framework. Among them is the Climate Action working group, which organizes local events and educational initiatives to raise awareness about environmental issues.

These activities range from Global Clean-Up Days and tree planting to promoting environmentally friendly habits. Although our ambassadors are spread across the globe, they’re united in their mission to educate and inspire colleagues on environmental matters.

“My proudest moment as an ambassador was when colleagues approached me and said, ‘Hey, this is something I care about too, so thank you for making it happen,’” shared Dane Hendren, Senior Customer Success Manager and a Climate Action working group ambassador in Adelaide. “I hope to inspire people to make more environmentally friendly decisions—no matter how small—because, in the end, they all have an impact.”

One of the key initiatives led by the Climate Action working group is the Global Clean-Up Days, where colleagues join forces to collect and properly dispose of waste around our offices. In our last round, over 120 colleagues and ambassadors from Göppingen, Berlin, Adelaide, Bremen, Karlsruhe, Ioannina, Porto, and Yerevan rolled up their sleeves and removed nearly 400 kg of waste from their communities in just one hour. This collective effort not only cleans up our communities but also serves as a powerful reminder of the impact our actions have on the world. We’ve also partnered with local organizations, like Let'z Putz in Göppingen, to amplify our efforts and make an even bigger difference.

Beyond clean-up events, we’re committed to educating our teams on reducing waste and adopting sustainable practices. The Climate Action working group regularly shares tips on avoiding environmentally harmful products, like plastic, and offers eco-friendly alternatives through a dedicated page on our internal channels. Additionally, we’ve launched campaigns at our Göppingen headquarters and Adelaide office to teach colleagues how to separate waste correctly, ensuring it’s disposed of responsibly.

Our colleagues in Adelaide took part in the workshop called “Which Bin,” which aimed to teach our colleagues the correct way to separate waste.

These internal initiatives, driven by the Climate Action working group, not only benefit the environment but also strengthen our company culture. They bring us together, united in our goal of building a more sustainable future.

“I love that our group aims to bridge gaps and foster dialogue between different locations, all with one goal in mind: to raise awareness about climate change and propose solutions that can positively impact the environment,” said Evangelia Stavrou, Senior Administration & HR Assistant and a Climate Action working group ambassador at our Greek R&D Hub in Ioannina.
